I’ve been wanting to start a newsletter for a while. And this Saturday, you and I are doing just that.
I quit my full-time job 2 weeks ago. Well, my entire team was let go, but let’s say that I left my job at my own agency.
Agency is the keyword here.
Over the past seven years of working in Big consulting, Big tech, studios/startups I have realized that the thing I crave the most in work is, agency. Agency to work on the things that I want to. To take my own risks and go after the opportunities that I identify. To work on my own time and pace. Work with people that I admire and connect with.
So today is a leap into the unknown, to find the work that I want to do.
Now that I am on this path, I can’t deny that it isn’t unsettling.
It shouldn’t be, though.
This is the freest I have ever been. This is the most I have collected in terms of resources - people that I know, money, skills, knowledge, and life experiences. And this is also the most location-independent I have been in a while.
And then there are some things that I am absolutely sure about.
I call them my work steering mechanisms.
Here they are
Have a shot at wealth
Take up an interesting and never-ending domain
Use everything I know till now
Be in the arena of the people that I want to work with
Manage my pace and stress
Have a sight of a trail to safer career paths
Things would only get clearer from here. I hope.
Okay, why should you care?
If you have read this far, and if this is hitting your inbox on launch day, don’t be shy and reply with a hello. You are, after all, part of my inner circle. And you’ll help me stay accountable. So thank you in advance for that.
